Fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. announced it has completed its National Digital Infrastructure, a major network designed to support advanced technologies and boost the country’s role in the global digital economy.
The announcement was made Friday during the inauguration of the company’s new data center in Angeles City, an AI-ready facility built to meet growing demand for cloud and digital services. The site will also host the Converge Cloud, a locally based cloud system aimed at keeping sensitive data within the Philippines.
Company CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the new infrastructure will allow Converge to deliver faster and more advanced digital services nationwide, including support for artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Government officials, including First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos and Department of Information and Communications Technology Secretary Henry Aguda, attended the launch.
The infrastructure includes a nationwide fiber network spanning nearly 900,000 kilometers, supported by satellite systems, international subsea cables, cable landing stations, and multiple data centers. Among these are new facilities in Caloocan and Angeles, along with existing hubs in Clark and Pasig.
Converge is also strengthening its international connectivity through major cable systems such as the Bifrost and SEA-H2X networks, which link the Philippines to other parts of Asia and the United States.
The newly opened Angeles Data Center has a starting capacity of 12 megawatts and is designed for expansion. It is equipped to handle high-performance computing needs, including AI and machine learning, and is expected to run on renewable energy.
The company said its Converge Cloud platform will offer secure, locally hosted data storage, particularly useful for government agencies and industries like finance and healthcare. It aims to reduce costs by eliminating the need for companies to maintain their own hardware.
Converge expects the new infrastructure to drive growth, especially in enterprise and public sector services, as demand for digital solutions continues to rise.
