Globe upgrades network with real-time automation

Globe Telecom is rolling out new automation and intelligence features to improve network reliability during outages, bad weather, and heavy mobile traffic.

The company introduced two technologies: Automated Outage Response and Intelligent Traffic Management.

Automated Outage Response detects network disruptions in real time and adjusts nearby cell sites to help keep users connected. Globe said the system can retain up to 50 percent of data connectivity during outages, compared to less than 10 percent without the feature.

Intelligent Traffic Management handles sudden spikes in demand during concerts, holidays, emergencies, and traffic congestion by shifting users to less crowded cell sites. Globe said this improves user experience by up to 20 percent, providing more stable 4G and 5G connections.

The technologies have been tested in Metro Manila and will be expanded nationwide, with full deployment targeted by 2026.

The initiative supports Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Oplan Bantay Signal campaign aimed at improving connectivity and service reliability across the country.

Joel Agustin, Globe senior vice president for Service Planning and Engineering, said the company aims to build a network that can adapt instantly to customer needs through automation and real-time intelligence.
