Japan Foundation marks 30 years; Stella Dance Jam highlights PH-Japan friendship

The Japan Foundation, Manila hosted over the weekend the Stella Dance Jam at The Theater at Solaire in Parañaque City. The gathering was attended by Japan’s Ambassador ENDO Kazuya and Madame ENDO Akiko, Japan Foundation President KUROSAWA Shinya, JFM Director SUZUKI Ben, Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega, and NCCA Chairman Eric Zerrudo.

In his speech, Ambassador Endo congratulated the foundation on its 30th anniversary, calling it a key bridge between the two nations through cultural and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed hope that events like this help build lasting friendships among young people. President Kurosawa thanked long-time partners and reaffirmed the foundation’s goal of bringing Japan and the Philippines closer.

The evening featured a special collaboration between internationally renowned dancer-choreographer RIEHATA and top Filipino P-pop group SB19. They were joined by RIEHATA’s RHT Family and young dancers chosen from auditions in both countries.

The activity forms part of the 70th anniversary of Philippines-Japan friendship, serving as a lively platform for youth connection through shared pop culture.
