VinFast Philippines has launched an online-to-offline (O2O) vehicle-buying platform in Metro Manila, allowing customers to handle much of the purchase process digitally while retaining access to physical dealerships, test drives and vehicle delivery services.
The platform, called OTO, lets prospective buyers inquire about vehicles, compare options, view sample financing computations, book test drives, reserve units and make online payments using credit cards or GCash.
Rox Lacerna, VinFast Philippines’ director for O2O, announced the rollout at a media briefing on Monday. Customers can arrange test drives at preferred locations, including their homes or workplaces, and choose between collecting their vehicles at a delivery center or having them delivered to their homes.
For cash buyers, VinFast said vehicles can be released within 48 hours if the unit is available and full payment has been made. Financing purchases may take longer because of additional processing requirements.
“We are bringing the showroom experience to your homes,” Lacerna said, describing OTO as a way for customers to explore vehicle options and begin their purchase journey remotely.
The launch reflects the automaker’s effort to accommodate consumers who increasingly expect convenience and flexibility in transactions. However, the platform is not intended to replace traditional dealerships, which remain relevant for buyers who want to inspect vehicles and experience them firsthand before committing to a purchase.
VinFast currently operates about 40 traditional dealerships in the Philippines and is targeting 50 to 60 by year-end, Lacerna said. Expansion will focus on markets where the company has yet to establish a saturated presence.
Despite the digital rollout, VinFast has no immediate plans to extend OTO beyond Metro Manila, where the service is currently available.
The company has not disclosed a sales-growth target for the platform, although it expects OTO to contribute significantly to sales. Its eventual impact will depend on customer adoption, vehicle availability and how effectively the digital channel works alongside the existing dealership network.
The rollout adds another sales channel as automakers explore ways to shorten the path from initial inquiry to vehicle purchase without eliminating the in-person experience.
