Prime Infrastructure Capital Inc. (Prime Infra) and the Climate Change Commission (CCC) have formalized a partnership to accelerate climate action across the Philippines. Announced Monday, the agreement brings together the government’s policy leadership and the private sector’s project expertise to build stronger climate resilience, protect ecosystems, and boost local capabilities.
Through a signed memorandum of understanding (MOU), the two sides will support key national climate goals, including the country’s National Adaptation Plan and its commitments under the Paris Agreement. For consumers and communities, this means clearer, more practical steps to protect homes, livelihoods, and public services from worsening weather and environmental changes.
Prime Infra president and chief executive officer Guillaume Lucci said the partnership blends the CCC’s government mandate with the company’s hands-on experience in building and running projects. Areas of cooperation include helping local governments create and carry out their own climate plans, training communities to access funding like the People’s Survival Fund, improving greenhouse gas monitoring, and expanding watershed protection through Prime Infra’s sustainability platform, Prime Kalikasan.
CCC vice chairperson and executive director Robert Borje emphasized that the private sector is a key partner in shielding communities from climate harm. By combining resources, innovation, and local knowledge, the partnership aims to turn national goals into real, on-the-ground results that directly protect people and their livelihoods. The CCC serves as the country’s top climate policy body, while Prime Infra develops and operates major infrastructure focused on reliable utilities, energy security, and the shift to cleaner energy.
