Property developer Filinvest Land Inc. on Thursday broke ground at its 25-hectare Filinvest Innovation Park-Ciudad de Calamba project in the city’s Barangay Bubuyan.
Present were officials from the Calamba City government, Barangays Punta and Bubuyan and representatives from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority. The FIP-CDC project is an expansion of FLI’s 50-hectare Filinvest Technology Park, a PEZA ecozone established in 2002 at the Ciudad de Calamba which is a modern, 350-hectare Filipino Hispanic township. The FIP CDC joins FIP New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac as FLI’s commitment to help boost economic growth via strategically located innovation parks, the company said.
“FIP-CDC marks a significant step forward for FLI as we expand our industrial presence in the Southern Tagalog region. With its cutting-edge green and digital features, FIP-CDC will offer a prime environment for logistics, e-commerce, and light manufacturing locators. We are proud to provide a platform that not only supports businesses but also contributes to the growth of the local economy,” Tristan Las Marias, president and CEO, said.
When completed, FIP-CDC will lease ready-built factory and built-to-suit units catering to prospective locators’ varying requirements. Its ready-built factories are designed to meet prime warehouse specifications such as high ceiling clearance and floor load capacity, elevated production floors with loading docks, and superior utilities infrastructure support, including access to high-speed Internet and fire detection & suppression. It will also have provisions for rooftop solar panels and rainwater harvesting.
The first two ready-built factories will be completed later this year while further land development of FIP-CDC lots should complete by mid-2024.
The entire FIP-CDC is a PEZA-registered ecozone, allowing locators to enjoy tax perks, simplified trade procedures, and special visa privileges for foreign employees.
