BPI Foundation brings financial literacy, digital learning to more public schools

BPI Foundation, the social development arm of the Bank of the Philippine Islands, is broadening its nationwide push to boost financial literacy and digital learning, reaching thousands of students and teachers in underserved communities.

Through its FinEd Unboxed School Caravan with Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI), the foundation recently turned over Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) packages to 15 public high schools across Iloilo City, Guimaras, Zamboanga City, Basilan, Cagayan de Oro City, and Misamis Oriental. Over 73,000 learners and educators stand to benefit, with five more schools in Rizal set to receive packages this November.

Each KCTV unit provides offline access to more than 1,500 curriculum-based educational videos, alongside the Estudyantipid learning series that teaches practical money skills — saving, budgeting, responsible spending, entrepreneurship, and scam awareness — directly in classrooms.

“This is more than donating equipment; it is an investment in our youth,” said BPIF Trustee Catherine Santamaria. “Financial education empowers young Filipinos early, building a more responsible and resilient generation.” KCFI Vice President Edric Calma added the partnership makes learning engaging, accessible, and meaningful for every student.

Beyond access to services, true financial inclusion means capability. By integrating financial education early, BPI Foundation aims to equip Filipinos with lifelong skills that foster resilient households, informed communities, and long-term economic mobility.
