First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP), led by chairman and CEO Federico R. Lopez, has announced a strategic partnership with Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions Inc. to enhance connectivity in its expansive 600-hectare industrial hub.
The collaboration was formalized during a contract signing ceremony on 11 October 2024 at the Rockwell Business Center in Ortigas, Pasig.
The partnership allows Converge to use FPIP’s dark fiber infrastructure, facilitating high-speed connectivity for over 150 locators and more than 70,000 employees within the park.
The initiative is part of FPIP’s efforts to modernize its digital infrastructure, which was bolstered in 2023 with a dark fiber facility aimed at optimizing existing resources and lowering interconnection costs for tenants.
Converge CEO Dennis Anthony Uy highlighted the importance of state-of-the-art industrial parks in attracting foreign investment, saying, “We are proud to be a connectivity provider in this world-class industrial park, enhancing its competitive edge.”
Meanwhile, Lopez emphasized the critical role of advanced connectivity in fostering innovation and operational efficiency among FPIP locators.
This agreement marks the inaugural project of Converge’s new Global Business Group, aimed at delivering high-speed, scalable connectivity and digital transformation services to enterprises throughout the Philippines.
The initiative underscores FPIP’s position as a premier manufacturing hub in the Asia-Pacific region, supporting diverse global brands including Canon, Dyson, and Nestle.
Converge, a leader in high-speed fiber optic internet in the Philippines, boasts of an extensive network of over 707,000 kilometers and 8 million fiber ports, positioning it as the largest FTTH provider in the country.
