PAGASA said the current track of Severe Typhoon Leon suggests it will make landfall in Taiwan by Thursday evening. But PAGASA said it doesn’t mean Batanes and Babuyan Islands and parts of Northern Luzon will be spared from impact, including storm surges up 10 meters high. “The hoisting of Wind Signal No. 5 is also not ruled out,” said PAGASA, although the more likely scenario is signal 3 or 4 in Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
