A Jeju Air plane crashed at Muan International Airport early Sunday, killing most of its 181 passengers on Flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok. Yonhap news agency reported that a landing gear malfunction likely caused the plane to veer off the runway during a failed landing attempt, before crashing into a fence and exploding into flames. Jeju Air CEO Kim E-bae expressed condolences, saying, “We extend our deepest apologies to the passengers and their bereaved families.” Only two survivors were rescued; all others are presumed dead.
