Diesel, kerosene prices drop further; fuel supply improves — DOE

The Department of Energy on Monday (DOE) announced mixed fuel price changes this week, with gasoline prices rising slightly while diesel and kerosene will see significant cuts.

Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said gasoline prices may increase by about P0.53 per liter, while diesel could drop by P12.94 per liter and kerosene by P15.71 per liter.

Fuel firms such as Seaoil and Jetti Petroleum have confirmed similar adjustments starting Tuesday. Jetti does not sell kerosene.

Over the past three weeks, total price reductions have reached P7.84 per liter for gasoline, P60.88 for diesel, and P29.21 for kerosene.

As of April 21–27, average fuel prices in Metro Manila stood at P82.70 per liter for gasoline, P99.90 for diesel, and P146 for kerosene.

The DOE also reported improved fuel reserves, with total supply expected to last 54 days as of April 24, up from about 52 days the previous week. Diesel and kerosene stocks increased, while gasoline and some other fuels saw slight declines.

The government has completed four diesel shipments under its emergency energy program, bringing in over 178 million liters to boost supply. These deliveries aim to strengthen the country’s fuel reserves amid ongoing global oil market uncertainty, including tensions in the Middle East.

The DOE said the additional supply will help maintain stable fuel availability and support key sectors such as transport, power, and agriculture. Officials assured the public that monitoring and distribution efforts will continue to prevent shortages.
