Ayala firms pair clean power with EVS

Two Ayala-led companies are betting that the future of transportation is not just electric—but renewable-powered as well.

ACMobility and ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES) have launched an integrated offering that combines 100 percent renewable energy supply with electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, giving businesses a one-stop solution for reducing emissions from both their operations and transport activities.

The partnership reflects a growing trend in corporate sustainability: companies are increasingly looking beyond office buildings and factories to address emissions from vehicle fleets, employee mobility, and logistics operations.

Under the arrangement, ACEN RES customers can install EV charging stations at their facilities while sourcing electricity from ACEN’s renewable energy portfolio. The model allows businesses to power EVs using clean energy rather than electricity generated from fossil fuels, maximizing the environmental benefits of electrification.

“Through this partnership, we are making it easier for businesses to adopt renewable energy and EV charging solutions, helping accelerate decarbonization across both operations and transport,” said ACEN president and chief executive officer Eric Francia.

The charging facilities can serve multiple purposes. Companies may use them for employee charging, support corporate EV fleets, or operate them as public charging stations.

Sites that choose to open their chargers to the public will be integrated into ACMobility’s Evro platform, enabling EV drivers to locate, access, and pay for charging services through a single digital ecosystem. The platform also automates billing and payment reconciliation for site operators.

For ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, the partnership addresses a crucial piece of the sustainability equation.

Electric vehicles deliver their greatest environmental impact when powered by renewable energy rather than conventional electricity sources, he noted.

The initiative builds on the companies’ earlier collaboration in powering some of the country’s first ultrafast EV charging stations in Makati with renewable energy.

As fuel prices remain volatile and corporate sustainability commitments become more ambitious, the convergence of clean power and electric mobility is emerging as a key pillar of the Philippines’ low-carbon transition.
