Grab Philippines has entered into strategic partnerships with leading EV charging operators ACMobility and EVOxCharge that aim to expand charging access for electric taxi and TNVS driver-partners on the Grab platform while lowering charging costs by as much as 45 percent.
Through these partnerships, GrabTaxi Electric and GrabCar Electric operators and driver-partners gain preferential rates across a combined network of more than 600 chargers. This initiative directly addresses two of the steepest barriers to EV adoption: charging availability and cost.
“Sustainability can no longer be treated as just a green movement. For us, it has become a kabuhayan commitment,” said Grab Financial Group Philippines country head CJ Lacsican.
“Through these partnerships, we are building the support system needed for more drivers to confidently consider electrification — not only as a cleaner transport choice, but as a livelihood resilience strategy amid the volatile fuel market. Ultimately, the goal is shared by the entire sector: to protect the livelihood of our transport professionals, while also protecting the everyday movement of the communities they serve,” he added.
Through Grab’s partnership with ACMobility, driver-partners can access ChargeFleet, a digital fleet management platform for drivers and fleet operators to more easily disburse, track, and manage EV charging credits. This enables streamlined shift changes between drivers, maximizing uptime and easing administrative tasks.
ChargeFleet is integrated into the Evro app, which allows EV drivers to locate ACMobility’s nationwide network of over 500 EV charge points in strategic locations, including fuel stations, malls, hotels, retail shops, and office and residential buildings. The app also offers a view of all charge points accredited by the Department of Energy to help EV drivers conveniently plan their charging sessions.
Meanwhile, EVOxCharge operates a growing network of over 130 charge points, anchored by its flagship hub at the TDG InHub in Taguig, alongside strategic retail locations at SM and S&R — pairing destination charging with the high-turnaround infrastructure required for rapid, en-route charging. It likewise offers integrated fleet solutions in its xCharge+ platform that allow Grab and its partners to streamline daily operations and simplify driver management.
“Through ACMobility’s ChargeFleet, our mission is to support Grab’s transition to EVs by streamlining fleet management. This solution makes EV taxi operations more efficient while reducing costs. Through this partnership, we are building an ecosystem that supports cleaner mobility and the livelihood of drivers who keep our cities moving,” Carla Buencamino, head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility said.
“EVOxCharge is committed to supporting the country’s EV transition by expanding access to convenient and cost-effective charging solutions,” said EVOxCharge vice president and general manager Derrick Tolentino.
“Our track record in powering high-demand commercial fleets has given us first-hand insight into what it takes to keep professional drivers moving. By working with Grab, we are bringing that specialized expertise directly to taxi and ride-hailing partners whose daily operations stand to gain the most from lower energy costs,” he added.
