Manila Water Co. Inc. projects completing the construction of a lift station project in Taguig by next year which will help deliver an additional 24 million liters of sewage a day by 2037.
The company said the P119 million Taguig North Package 4A project forms part of the sewer network currently undergoing upgrades with channel interceptors and pipelaying activities being laid out.
Manila Water said the pipe laying works include installing wider 600-millimeter fiberglass reinforced plastic pipes used for lightweight construction and 500-mm ductile iron pipes for long-term iron pipe sewers.
The upgrades are designed to capture the unsewered areas of the Taguig North Catchment area covering Amorsolo Street, Don Bosco Street and Barangay San Lorenzo in Makati City.
Manila Water also said the ongoing installation of channel interceptors and pipe laying play a vital role in safeguarding public health of customers in Makati City and Taguig City.
Manila Water mainly serves customers in Makati, Pasig, Pateros, Marikina, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Taguig, some parts of Quezon City and Manila; and several towns in Rizal province that include Taytay, Teresa, Angono, Antipolo, Baras, Binangonan, Cainta, San Mateo and Rodriguez.
It also has partnerships with water districts in Tagum, Davao del Norte; Bulacan; Clark in Pangasinan; Calasiao in Pangasinan; San Jose in Nueva Ecija; Laguna; Boracay in Aklan; Cebu; as well as with property developments through Estate Water.
Overseas, Manila Water has operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Myanmar.
