GCash waives fees for Filipinos in Middle East

GCash will temporarily waive transaction fees for users in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Oman to help overseas Filipinos manage finances amid ongoing developments in the region.

The move allows Filipinos abroad to send or receive money without added costs and supports government efforts to protect the welfare of overseas workers.

Instead of removing fees upfront, GCash will return them through in-app cashback. Eligible users do not need to register, and refunded amounts will be automatically credited to their accounts with a notification.

Transactions made from March 4–10, 2026 will receive cashback on March 20, while those from March 11–14 will be refunded on March 27.

GCash said it is monitoring the situation and may extend the relief measure if needed. Filipinos requiring urgent assistance are advised to contact the nearest Philippine embassy or consulate, or reach out to the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Department of Migrant Workers.
