Hotel101 opens Madrid hotel, boosts global expansion

Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp., the Nasdaq-listed hospitality arm of DoubleDragon Corp., has opened its first European property with the launch of Hotel101 Madrid, marking the international debut of a Filipino homegrown hotel brand.

The 680 room hotel began accepting bookings Tuesday, March 10, in Madrid’s fast growing Valdebebas district, a strategic location near Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport and the massive IFEMA Madrid convention complex. The opening represents a key milestone in Hotel101’s push to build a global hospitality footprint.

The property also sits beside the famed Ciudad Real Madrid training complex of Real Madrid and near the site of the upcoming Madrid Grand Prix circuit, positioning the hotel to capture both tourism and sports related travel demand.

Among the largest in Madrid, the hotel features the brand’s standardized “HappyRoom” concept, offering compact but fully equipped units with kitchenettes and uniform layouts designed for efficiency and scalability across global markets.

The model allows the company to replicate the same hotel experience in every location while maintaining competitive pricing.

Amenities include swimming pools, function rooms, a business center, a gym, and the all day dining restaurant HBNB Kitchen operated by Valencia based culinary group Grupo La Sucursal.

For Hotel101 Global, the Madrid opening serves as a launchpad for its international expansion strategy. The property is expected to begin generating recurring revenues immediately while strengthening the brand’s presence in Europe.

The move also signals a broader ambition for Filipino hospitality brands to compete on the global stage, as Hotel101 seeks to replicate its scalable hotel model in major gateway cities worldwide.
