AirAsia Philippines has appointed Anna Victoria Lu as its new president and general manager, signaling a leadership reset as the airline moves into a new growth phase.
Lu brings over 15 years of experience in infrastructure, utilities, and public-private partnerships. She previously worked at Aboitiz InfraCapital, where she led a major water project serving more than one million people.
She replaces Suresh Bangah, who has been promoted to group chief operations officer at AirAsia Aviation Group after helping the airline recover operations.
AirAsia Philippines plans to build on improved stability by expanding its network. The airline currently flies to 26 destinations—14 domestic and 12 international—and aims to grow its Cebu hub with new international routes.
Lu said her priorities include maintaining stable operations despite global challenges, such as rising fuel costs, while pursuing sustainable growth and improving customer confidence.
The airline reported a 14 percent increase in passengers in the first quarter of 2026 compared to last year, driven by strong travel demand and new routes like Hanoi and Da Nang.
