ACMobility has launched a nationwide electric vehicle safety education program covering EV technology, charging, ownership, and vehicle safety as electric vehicles become more common in the Philippine market.
The company’s “Drive Electric EV Safety Program” will bring technical and practical EV education to communities across the country, with sessions focused on operating conditions specific to the Philippines.
ACMobility Chief Executive Officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel said the program was developed in response to questions that come with the adoption of a relatively new vehicle technology.
“With every new technology comes real questions, genuine, honest questions that everyone’s entitled to ask,” Zobel said at the program’s launch.
These include how EVs work, how they differ from conventional vehicles, how they perform during heavy rains and extreme heat, total cost of ownership, charging availability, and whether the country’s infrastructure is ready for wider adoption.
“They’re important, and they deserve clear and honest answers,” Zobel said.
The sessions will cover EV components and technology, safety standards, responsible charging practices, and everyday EV ownership. Participants will also get hands-on experience using BYD electric vehicles and ACMobility charging equipment.
Zobel said the program will be brought to different parts of the country.
“Today’s launch marks the kickoff,” he said. “We look forward to bringing the same conversation to different parts of the country, reaching more communities where EV education and safety awareness matter most.”
The initiative comes as the Philippine automotive market sees a growing range of electric models and charging options, making familiarity with EV operation and safety increasingly relevant to motorists considering the technology.
