Coco Mama, under Century Pacific Food Inc. (CNPF), is set to donate one million quality coconut seedlings over the next five years through its Save Our Coconuts program, joining forces with global brand Vita Coco for a combined total of two million seedlings nationwide. Implemented with impact organization HOPE, the effort aims to replace aging coconut trees, boost farm productivity, and secure a sustainable supply while deeply supporting smallholder farming communities. About 20 percent of the country’s coconut trees are already aging and producing less, leaving many farmers among the most vulnerable with few resources to improve their livelihoods. This new pledge builds on CNPF’s earlier milestone, having already donated and planted one million seedlings back in 2022 alongside GCash and HOPE. Beyond seedlings, the program will also provide farmer education and better market access to help communities thrive. Vita Coco is matching Coco Mama’s commitment as part of its global Seedlings for Sustainability goal to plant up to 10 million coconut trees worldwide by 2030. The initiative was officially launched last September 2 on World Coconut Day with a ceremonial planting in General Santos City, attended by local farmers, community leaders, partners, and brand ambassador Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo. Since its launch in 2019, Coco Mama has grown into the Philippines’ top coconut cream brand, rooted in caring for the coconut trees and people at the heart of its business.
