A hotel getaway may be easier on the holiday budget this year, with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA) Philippines offering accommodation discounts of up to 70 percent across 68 hotels and resorts nationwide.
The Discover More to Love campaign covers destinations ranging from Metro Manila, Tagaytay, Batangas, Clark and Baguio to Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo, Palawan and Davao. The participating properties are all HSMA members and accredited by the DOT.
Beyond cheaper room rates, the campaign also offers an option for those still scratching their heads over Christmas presents. Through HSMA’s Book & Buy voucher program, customers can purchase hotel stays in advance and let recipients decide when to travel, subject to each property’s booking conditions and voucher validity.
It is a practical alternative to gifts that may not fit, suit someone’s taste or survive beyond the holidays.
Boracay has several featured deals. Savoy Hotel offers rates starting at P3,800 per night, while Four Points by Sheraton starts at P5,500 and Feliz Hotel at P4,488. Belmont Hotel Boracay and Chancellor Hotel Boracay also have rates from P3,800, while Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay starts at P13,500.
Those looking beyond the beach can consider Belmont Hotel Iloilo, with rates starting at P3,800; Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay at P6,300; and Sotogrande Hotel in Baguio at P4,299.
For a city break, Dusit Thani in Makati offers discounts of up to 32 percent, while Diamond Hotel is offering 40 percent off room rates.
The campaign gives hotels an opportunity to secure advance bookings during the busy holiday season while encouraging Filipinos to explore domestic destinations.
For buyers, the appeal is straightforward: a vacation can be wrapped up as a Christmas present, even if the actual trip comes months later.
As with any voucher purchase, customers should check booking requirements, blackout dates and expiration periods before paying. A good deal is best enjoyed when the dates work, too.
