Cebu Pacific expands fleet ahead of peak travel season

Cebu Pacific welcomed three new aircraft this October that bolsters its network expansion and meet growing air travel demand. The Gokongwei-led airline received two A321neos on October 23 and 30, along with an A320ceo on 28 October, bringing the total deliveries this year to 15.

“We’re excited to expand our fleet with these additional aircraft ahead of the peak travel season in December,” said Xander Lao, CEB president and chief commercial officer. “These deliveries are a key part of our continued effort to expand routes and enhance our service, allowing us to better serve the increasing number of travelers.”

The newly acquired Airbus NEOs are designed to be more fuel-efficient, burning 15 percent less fuel per flight and producing lower noise levels compared to previous models. This advancement also contributes to reduced carbon emissions.

On 2 October, Cebu Pacific made headlines with a landmark agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney for up to 152 A321neo aircraft, valued at approximately $24 billion (P1.4 trillion) — the largest acquisition in Philippine aviation history.

Operating one of the youngest fleets globally, Cebu Pacific boasts of a diverse mix of nine Airbus 330s, 40 Airbus 320s, 24 Airbus 321s, and 15 ATR turboprop aircraft, enabling extensive network coverage throughout the Philippines.
