With more Filipinos staying indoors due to rising fuel costs and energy pressures, demand for dependable home internet is accelerating—prompting Globe Telecom to expand its prepaid fiber offerings.
The company is scaling up its GFiber Prepaid service to meet growing reliance on digital connectivity for work, education, and everyday needs. As flexible learning and work-from-home arrangements persist, households are increasingly turning to prepaid options for affordability and flexibility.
Central to the expansion is a major speed upgrade: GFiber Prepaid now delivers up to 300 Mbps, a sixfold increase from its previous 50 Mbps baseline. Globe is maintaining its ₱699 installation fee, which includes seven days of unlimited internet, to keep the service accessible to more users.
Designed for multi-device households, the service can handle up to 15 simultaneous connections—supporting remote work, online classes, streaming, and gaming all at once. Reload options remain competitively priced at ₱499 for seven days and ₱1,199 for 30 days, reinforcing prepaid fiber as a practical alternative for cost-conscious families.
Globe Broadband executive Abigail Cardino noted that the expansion reflects a clear shift in consumer behavior, with more Filipinos depending on stable, high-speed internet at home. She said Globe aims to broaden access to prepaid fiber as a reliable solution in an increasingly digital-first environment.
The move underscores Globe’s wider push to expand prepaid connectivity, positioning it as a key response to surging home internet demand and evolving household needs.
