    Globe leaders drive connectivity discussions at MWC Barcelona 2025

    Globe Telecom senior executives made significant strides in global connectivity conversations at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. CEO Ernest Cu, deputy CEO Carl Cruz, and other senior leaders represented the company at high-level industry discussions, showcasing solutions tailored to emerging markets like the Philippines.

    At the event, Cu participated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with other Philippine telcos to deploy federated CAMARA APIs under the GSMA Open Gateway initiative. This collaboration aims to enhance security against fraud, streamline the development of digital solutions, and foster growth in fintech, e-commerce, and other digital services by leveraging telecom networks as platforms for developers.

    “We are committed to advancing digital innovation while prioritizing customer security,” said Cu, emphasizing Globe’s role in improving fraud prevention and identity verification in the Philippines.

    Cruz shared Globe’s focus on 5G-A×AI at the GTI Summit 2025, highlighting the company’s push for inclusive growth through enhanced 5G access and affordable fiber internet. He also underscored the importance of collaborations with industry partners and the government to build a digital economy that benefits all Filipinos.

    Globe chief privacy officer, Irish Salandanan-Almeida, addressed the company’s proactive efforts to combat digital scams at the GSMA SEC CON 2025, detailing partnerships with financial institutions and law enforcement to prevent fraud before it impacts consumers.

    The company’s security strategy was further discussed by Anton Bonifacio, Globe chief information security officer, who outlined efforts to tackle evolving scam methods and the implementation of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.

    Rebecca Eclipse, Globe chief transformation and operations officer, spoke about the company’s ongoing transformation to improve customer experience through agile, customer-centric strategies. She highlighted improvements in site deployment and network coverage, which have led to enhanced customer trust and increased revenues.

    Through its active participation in MWC 2025, Globe further solidified its leadership in the telecom industry, reinforcing its commitment to digital inclusion and advancing the Philippines’ digital transformation.
