Outgoing Japanese Ambassador ENDO Kazuya paid a farewell call on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos at Malacañang Palace today, marking the close of his diplomatic posting with warm exchanges and a top state honor.
Ambassador Endo expressed heartfelt thanks to President Marcos for his leadership, which he said drove real progress in security cooperation, economic partnership, and closer people-to-people ties between the two nations. Both sides looked back on the First Couple’s State Visit to Japan last May—held to mark the 70th anniversary of Japan-Philippines Friendship—as they reaffirmed their long-standing bond and shared resolve to expand cooperation as Comprehensive Strategic Partners.
In recognition of his extraordinary work to strengthen Philippine-Japan friendship, President Marcos presented Ambassador Endo with the Order of Sikatuna, one of the country’s highest honors for foreign diplomats.
