The Parañaque City government is expecting stronger economic activity following the full connection of the 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX C5 Link, which now links Cavite and Taguig through a high-speed expressway route.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the completion of Segment 3B fulfills a long-standing plan to improve the city’s competitiveness. He said travel time between Parañaque, Cavite, and Taguig has been cut from about 1.5 hours to just around 15 minutes, which he expects will benefit businesses, investors, and job creation.
The expressway provides faster access to major areas including NAIA and C5 Road, with key interchanges at the Manila-Cavite Expressway, Sucat Road, and C.P. Garcia Avenue. It is expected to serve more than 30,000 motorists daily and help ease traffic and logistics costs amid rising fuel prices.
City traffic officials also said the project will improve overall traffic flow in the area. However, Segment 3B is currently operating with two lanes in each direction while remaining right-of-way issues are being resolved. It is designed to eventually expand to six lanes with service roads.
Despite this, the local government said it is confident the improved connectivity will immediately attract investments and support economic growth in Parañaque.
The CAVITEX C5 Link is a joint project of the Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation under Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), the Philippine Reclamation Authority, and is operated by the PEA Tollway Corporation.
