Distributor shifts from importer to manufacturer with new Batangas facility

Fly Ace Corp., long known as a distributor of imported food brands in the Philippines, is building a seven-hectare production facility at the LIMA Estate in Batangas. The project marks a major shift in the company’s strategy—from mainly importing and distributing goods to becoming a local manufacturer.

For over 50 years, Fly Ace has been a key player in the local consumer market, handling brands such as Jolly, Doña Elena, Jolly Heart Mate and Good Life, and partnering with global names like Welch’s, Lotus Bakeries and Mott’s.

The new facility will allow the company to produce goods closer to its local customers, improve supply chain stability, and explore export opportunities. It also opens the door for joint ventures with both current and future partners.

Company president Lucio Cochanco Jr. said the decision to invest in LIMA Estate was driven by its ready infrastructure and strategic location. The industrial park, owned by the Aboitiz Group, offers access to key transport routes and investment incentives that support long-term growth.

LIMA Estate currently hosts nearly 200 companies and has generated around 75,000 jobs across various industries. According to Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, president and CEO of Aboitiz Economic Estates and Aboitiz Land, continued investments in their estates reflect strong interest from both local and foreign firms.

Fly Ace’s expansion signals a significant corporate milestone, positioning the company as a more integrated player in the Philippine food industry while contributing to regional economic development.
