PAL expands North America flights starting late 2026

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is increasing flights to key North American cities to boost connectivity between the Philippines, the United States, Canada, and Southeast Asia.

Starting November 2026, PAL will raise Manila–Vancouver flights from 7 to 10 weekly services. In December, Manila–Toronto flights go from 3 to 4 weekly trips, and Manila–New York (JFK) will also rise to 4 weekly flights—with an extra fifth flight added during the peak December 2026 to January 2027 holiday season. These join the new thrice-weekly Manila–Chicago flights launching November 9, 2026.

The move strengthens PAL’s standing as the top Southeast Asian carrier with the most nonstop flights between the region and North America. “North America remains one of our most important markets,” said PAL president Richard Nuttall. He noted the expansion supports travel, family reunions, business, tourism, and trade ties.

The extra flights also improve connections via Manila to major Southeast Asian spots including Singapore, Bangkok, Bali, and Hanoi. Through partnerships with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and WestJet, passengers can easily reach more destinations across the US and Canada. Additional cargo space will also help meet rising demand for trade and e-commerce shipments across the Pacific.

Most new routes will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft at first, later switching to the larger A350-1000 as they join the fleet. This newer model will also start serving San Francisco in August 2026, adding more premium seats.

As the country’s flag carrier, PAL runs flights from Manila and Cebu to 29 local destinations and 40 cities across Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East. This expansion is part of its long-term plan to make Manila a leading gateway between North America and Southeast Asia.
